Clock to Rock - Big Ben, London to the rock of Gibraltar 2nd -19th September 2011

Paul Beven & Jane Kennet are cycling to Gibraltar for the British Heart Foundation. Our target is to raise £12,000. We are hoping to keep you up to date with our training and fund raising progress so far via this blog. Signals and stamina permitting with any luck we can post along the actual journey too. Sponsor us now by clicking this link to our JustGiving page or email me if you prefer. LATEST NEWS - Despite the BHF postponing their official trip until sometime in 2012 we are pressing ahead with an independent trip of our own although the BHF are providing some assistance to us to help us on our way.

Two's company, three's a Peloton

There could be mutiny in the ranks. I don't want to mention any names or give the game away here but there is unrest out there, one of our blog followers is very interested to join the ride and the fund raising. Excellent I say. The more the merrier. I could do with a decent set of wheels to sit behind the whole way to Gibraltar and this persons wheels are tried and tested in the London to Paris ride in 2009.

The unrest is due to a prior commitment he has to an event he needs to actually complete. Last time we all did Race the Sun I am not sure that he even finished it at all. We had all gone to bed by then and he never made the final fuel station in the pub bar so I think that's why he was planning to try again.

Move on, come to Gibraltar where the sun at least will hopefully be shining and the chances of rain and 70mph wind gusts are drastically reduced.

I will see if I can dig out a picture and post it, we could blow his cover wide open. I hope it doesn't upset the delicate negotiations going on at home, he needs to tick that box before he can sign the application form for sure.

But then again, abit like 'Race the Sun'. He might say he can do it and then not deliver. We shall see.....

Oh and Paul as long as the weight gain remains less than or equal to zero you are one step ahead of me in the training.
